Following the pandemic, many brands are having to rethink their estate and how they can create the most engaging, experiential environments to entice more footfall and encourage visitors back.
Whether it’s F&B brands, leisure facilities, casinos or cinemas, there is now an amazing opportunity to fully consider how physical environments can be branded with user engagement in mind. Brand values can be embraced through effective messaging whilst finding the balance with creative solutions.
Our vast experience in multiple sectors means that we offer expert levels of consultancy on how to create these unique and highly bespoke spaces. astley often partners up with creative design agencies, such as Dakota House of Design, on the more bespoke creative projects. This partnership works particularly well as it combines their expertise in creative and concept work with our own practical skillset, to offer a complete solution for a client. They value our understanding of manufacture and the process of taking their ideas from ‘paper’ into physical products, and they in turn help us push our boundaries of knowledge around media and implementation.
Most recently, we have been awarded Gold in Architectural at the Sign & Wrap Awards 2024 for our work on the Anglo-Saxon Musuem and Whisky Distillery Ad Gefrin. The main objective of the signage and ambient graphics was to complement the architecture and represent the history of the venue and brand. This was achieved through a variety of exterior, interior, and wayfinding elements made from a combination of timber and stone.
We have also been short-listed at two industry awards in the past for our work alongside Dakota; the UK Graphic Awards and the Creative Retail Awards. These nominations recognise our collaborative expertise in the delivery of The Lofts & The Hustle branding. The nominated projects, covered in the next case study section, ideally evidence the success of this type of partnership and how each partner’s expertise compliments the other.

astley has been lucky enough to work with some key brands from the entertainment and leisure sector, and continue to offer brands like Wembley Park and WPP a multitude of brand graphic solutions; from traditional signmaking to digital assets.
Often lighting is a key element at these types of venues, and we understand the full range of opportunities this can bring, from Neon to LED, and how to integrate illumination into a branded scheme. We also understand how various media responds to illumination and how versatile it can be in activating a brand space. Our aim as branding implementation experts is to guide designers and clients by demonstrating process and identifying the latest trends within their sector.
astley also has a highly skilled mixed-media workshop at our Kettering facility which offers creative production to brand agencies who create environments for brands like Facebook, LinkedIn, Spotify and WPP. These highly bespoke spaces are carefully considered and often experimental in their approach to branded messaging, pushing the boundaries of graphical implementation by using unique substrates and finishes; from spirals of dominoes to interactive feature walls.
We are often challenged to create the most amazing and complex spaces, and it is our job to translate these most creative visions into actual physical results!
